- A: AnswerIt comes with a USB cable (about 20" long) and is powered by the USB port. You don't need a separate power cord. I've not tried to burn files using this drive, but the drive says it can read and write.

Nice portable DVD drive
Slim portable DVD drive. It's not the fastest drive, but price was right and it meets my need.

Was good while it worked
I was really pleased with this when I first got it. I bought a new laptop not realizing that this is not built into most laptops anymore for some reason. But this was an easy solution. I am rebuilding my music library. So it does involve me using it quite a bit because of all the cds. I have, so burning and ripping a lot of cds. I bought this on december 19th 2023 and noticed, it was not working properly Feb 22nd 2024. So I got a good 2 months of usage. I mean, I was using it quite a bit so I don't know if that's why it stopped working but regardless kind of sucks. And of course, it's past the 30 days so I can't return/exchange it. They're pretty inexpensive so I can just get another but still...

External drive
Very easy to use. I bought an Epson printer that came with a DVD setup disk. I tried to use the online instructions - REDICULOUS - so I went back to Best Buy, bought the simple disk drive, and 10 minutes after plugging it in, my printer setup was done! I guess you still have to have a disk drive!
