I have only been using this computer for a couple of days, but it has exceeded my expectations!  I just replaced my Dell XPS13 which I've had for 5 years, and so far, I like this one better!  I read numerous reviews on other websites, agreed with all the positives and the few negatives (such as appearance or keyboard configurations) were either irrelevant to me or didn't prove to be true for me.  The keyboard is great (and I'm a typer), it's lightning fast, and the screen is bright and easily visible outdoors in daylight.  I must admit the speaker isn't great sound quality (being on the bottom), but audio is very clear.  If you want hi-fi music, you probably want speakers on any computer.  Battery life isn't quite the huge numbers advertised, but it will get me through a full day for my level of use.  We will see how it holds up, but it seems quite sturdy with the metal alloy construction.  The fingerprint reader works every time.  It starts up quickly.  I would definitely buy it again!

Good option for home / office

Surprise surprise this is my first Acer.  I normally will buy a Lenovo Ideapad.  But I wanted model simply sold out. This was my 2nd choice. This Swift 3 is well made and had everything I need. Nothing I don't. My requirement is to have a Win 10 system not Win 11. I wish I can have 16GB RAM but 8GB is acceptable. WiFi 6 with Intel AX200 series is a plus. WiFi is very fast at 1200ax

Well made for everyday use

For context, I'm coming to this computer from a 2015 MacBook Air. Needless to say, computers have gotten faster over the past 7 years, so the performance is much better.

Where I'm the most impressed is with the build quality, keyboard, screen and trackpad. I'd say all of these things are about 90% as good as a MacBook at like 30-50% of the price. That is NOT the case for all mid-range laptops. For the average user, this has everything you could possibly need. I'm very happy with the purchase and feel like I got a great deal.

Great laptop for the price

The display is a matte 1080p panel with slim bezels and gets about 350 nits of brightness. The laptop is very lightweight at about 2.6 lbs. This is even smaller than a MacBook Air! The chassis is made out of metal, but it's not as sturdy as a MacBook Air.

The speakers do not have very loud volume. The keyboard backlight only has two modes (on/off), the brightness can't be customized, and it turns off after 30 seconds of inactivity. I'm confused by the power button at times, for example sometimes it takes me 2-3 presses until the laptop turns on.

Budget MacBook Air

I recently purchased this to replace a older Dell E7240 with i7 and 12.5" 1080p touch screen which had significant display issues and was not Windows 11 compatible. I only mention this previous laptop because the Acer Swift 3 is a much better machine for most general computing tasks even though it is currently less than 1/3 of the price for the Dell when it was new. The benchmarks for this new generation i5 are significantly better than the older i7, it is lighter despite the slightly larger screen and performance on most tasks seem to be faster. For all of the common functions including email, web and Office this laptop has no noticeable lag. It plays 1080p video without missing a beat and the newer wifi card is showing nearly 300 Mbps.  As others have mentioned there is some bloatware which I removed and then performed the Windows 11 update which completed without a hitch. Despite its budget price this is a good little laptop for most users. Its not the fastest laptop out there but for the money this is a great compromise.

Great general purpose laptop.

The main reason I bought this laptop was for the advertised battery life.  It doesn't quite live up to that claim, which is why I deducted 1 star.  Otherwise, I would have given a 5!

Pros:
- speedy and responsive processor
- comfortable and responsive keyboard
- fast boot time
- thin and light
- charges via USB-C!
- easy update to Windows 11

Cons:
- battery life good, but not as good as advertised (google chrome is the biggest battery hog app)
- fingerprint sensor rarely works correctly

Great value laptop almost 5 star

A new computer should run flawlessly out of the box. The Swift 3 had serious issues with Windows update. Running the troubleshooter, clearing the cache, stopping and restarting the BITS service, running DISM and SFC, and multiple restarts didn't fix the issue. Returned for a refund.

Unable to update our of the box

DON'T buy this for more than US$150.  In fact the last few tablets and this laptop I've purchased from Walmart were horrible. The volume is so terrible that I learn forward to listen to the audio. After paying what I bought it for this I would have returned it except my old laptop screen is sketchy and that is why I only tranistioned to this.

Truthful

This laptop was advertised as a 14”. When it arrived, it was a 13.5”. I returned it and did the tracking it was returned to a home in Massachusetts. I still have not received my credit card.
